名古屋大学国際プログラム群（G30）生物系プログラムにおいて，年間8コマ（例：秋学期4コマ，春学期4コマ）を上限として講義を担当するとともに，学内における生命科学分野の英語教育にたずさわります。また，理学研究科やG30生物系プログラムの関係教員と協力し，学部及び大学院入試，G30プログラムの運営に関わる業務等を行います。あわせて，単独又は理学研究科の教員等と共同で，生命科学の先端を切り開く研究を行います。

・生命科学分野での博士学位又はPh.D.を有し，教育経験を有すること。
・学部生及び大学院生に対する指導能力を有すること。
・日本人向け科目の授業担当や大学運営業務を含め，大学の国際プログラムに関係する業務に広く積極的に関わる意欲を有すること。
・G30生物系プログラムの小嶋誠司教授と協力してG30学部及び大学院教育並びに管理業務を行い，小嶋教授と協調して研究活動を行うこと（研究分野は微生物学に限りません）。
・学内外での多文化共生において，コミュニケーションを円滑に行える能力を有すること。
・担当科目の講義を行うための必要十分な英語力を有すること。
・生命科学分野の研究歴を有すること。
・日常会話ができる程度の日本語能力があることが望ましい。
・科研費等の競争的資金を獲得できることが望ましい。

The Biological Science Program in the Nagoya University Global 30 International Programs invites applications for a full-time Associate Professor position, with the possibility of a permanent position.
We encourage applicants who have shown excellence in teaching Biological Science to students at the undergraduate level to apply. The G30 Program of Nagoya University is well known for its small class sizes, highly motivated students, and international atmosphere. Standard teaching load is up to eight courses per year (e.g., four courses each, in spring or autumn semester). A course is equivalent to one 90-minute lecture per week for 15 weeks. The finally selected associate professor will also serve as an academic advisor for undergraduate students, contribute to the admissions process for both graduate and undergraduate students, and engage in research activities preferably in cooperation with the group of Microbial Motility (Principal Investigator: G30 program professor, Seiji Kojima) in the Division of Biological Science, Graduate School of Science.
The faculty member will teach courses including:
Undergraduate
•Part of course in Institute of Liberal Arts and Science (e.g., “Fundamentals of Biology 2”)
•Genetics I, Cell Biology I, Cell Biology II, Physiology and Anatomy I
Graduate
•Principles of Life Science
Qualifications:
1) Doctoral degree in the field of life science, with teaching experience
2) Demonstrated ability to advise students at the undergraduate and graduate levels
3) Willingness to take part in the International Programs of the university, including but not limited to teaching courses to Japanese students and administrative duties
4) English fluency sufficient to teach abovementioned courses
5) Record of research experience in Biology or a related field in Life Science.
6) Conducting research activities preferably in cooperation with Professor Seiji Kojima, although the applicant’s research field is not limited to microbiology
7) Willingness to cooperate with Professor Seiji Kojima to plan and conduct education for G30 Biological Science undergraduate/graduate program and administrative duties
8) Ability to acquire research grants (e.g., KAKENHI) is welcome though not required
9) Strong interpersonal skills and evidence of success in a multicultural environment with students, faculty, administration, and the local community
10) Japanese language proficiency is welcome though not required
Term:
The initial contract will start in May 2021 at the earliest and it will end four years from the start day of the contract. Contingent upon job performance, the contract may be renewable as a permanent position.
Salary:
6 million to 9 million Japanese yen/year (all inclusive) depending on experience and conforming to the rules of Tokai National Higher Education and Research System
