| 募集分野・業務内容 | A postdoctoral position is now available in the Department of Pharmacology in the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. The laboratory is currently funded by the NIH and a private foundation that focuses on Usher Syndrome. Our research focus is retinal cell biology with the goal of discovering small molecule therapy for photoreceptor degenerative disorders. To elucidate the disease mechanisms, we genetically dissect the process of photoreceptor morphogenesis and maintenance in vertebrate animals. Our laboratory pioneered real-time imaging of proteins and small molecules within the retina, and takes advantage of state of the art confocal/multiphoton/STED microscopy techniques. Our research also heavily depends on the tissue culture system to biochemically study the components required for photoreceptor morphogenesis/maintenance.
