The 2022 FAOBMB Education Award
Call for Applications
Nomination Deadline: 15 April 2022
Dear Council delegates,
I am pleased to inform you that the call for applications for the second FAOBMB Education Award is now open. Starting in 2013, the FAOBMB EducationAward is awarded triennially (every three years) in recognition of outstanding contributions to education in biochemistry or molecular biology in the FAOBMB region, with a special focus on innovation and productive outcomes in education. The contributions should reflect outstanding activities with respect to:
[1] Teaching philosophy and methods.
[2] Personal teaching performance, quality and outcomes.
[3] Biochemistry and Molecular Biology research and teaching: evidence of involvement in research (education, scientific or both).
[4] External role, peer review and influence beyond host department/institution.
ABOUT THE FAOBMB Education Award 2022
Nominees must be members of one of the FAOBMB constituent Societies or Groups with at least two years of continuous membership immediately prior to the nomination. The award winner will present his or her work as a lecture (pre-recorded or in-person to be decided at a later date) at the 29th FAOBMB Conference to be held in Shenzhen, China during 19 – 22 October 2022. The award winner will receive complimentary registration for the FAOBMB conference as well as receiving an award and an honorarium of USD3000 provided by FAOBMB and sponsors. The 29th FAOBMB Conference is expected to proceed as a hybrid meeting and all international speakers will provide a pre-recorded lecture and be present during the live Q&A session. Should the Congress switch to a physical meeting a travel/accommodation allowance of up to USD2000 will also be provided.

To this purpose I enclose herewith the 2022 Application form together with the Guidelines, which provide useful information on the FAOBMB Education Award for 2022. The deadline to receive complete applications for 2022 is 15 April 2022. The FAOBMB award winners will be notified at least 4 months before the conference.
