Postdoctoral Fellow/Staff Scientist/Research Technician
The Srinivasan Lab at Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) is recruiting motivated researchers to conduct NIH supported research about heart valves. Heart valves open and close approximately 40 million times a year and are critical for our wellbeing. Valve defects are observed in ~ 2.5% of all individuals, increasing to ~8% in individuals >65 years old and ~13% in those who are >75. The ageing population is rapidly increasing in the world, which in turn is expected to raise the frequency of heart valve disorders. Therefore, we urgently need better understanding of heart valve diseases to stop or slow the progression of heart valve disease. Towards this goal the Srinivasan lab uses state of the art biochemical, cell biological and transgenic technologies to dissect the roles of transcription factors and signaling molecules that regulate valve development and disease.
